BREAKING: FG Shifts Resumption Of International Flights Buhari Names Col. Dikio As Presidential Amnesty Coordinator, Sacks Dokubo

 The Federal Government has postponed the resumption of international flight operations in the country.


The Covid-19 Presidential Taskforce disclosed on Thursday that international flights will now resume on September 5.


Musa Nuhu, Director General, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, made the announcement during the ongoing press briefing on Thursday.


The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, had earlier announced that international flights would resume on August 29.



President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Col. Milland Dixion Dikio (rtd.) as Interim Administrator (Amnesty Programme), the Presidency said on Thursday.



It said the appointment took effect from August 21, 2020.


“This followed the President’s approval of the disengagement of Prof. Charles Quarker Dokubo from Office as the Coordinator, Amnesty Programme with immediate effect.


“Prof. Dokubo has been directed to hand over all official matters to the most senior officer of the Programme.


“President Buhari appreciated the services of Prof. Dokubo to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and wished him the best in his future endeavours”, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, announced minutes ago.
